Ways to Measure Ring Size for Men

Unlike ladies, men have a hard time getting the right sizes for a ring. This is because their fingers are relatively larger than the ladies’ and also they do not have a wide variety of ring designs than women. Therefore if you are getting married or you would like to buy a fun ring to wear, below are some essential tips that can guide you and help you in finding the right size for a ring. If you are buying a promise ring to your fiancée, the following guide will help you select the right size for a ring.

Get sized at the Jewel Store

This is essential for those getting married or wants to buy a fancy ring. Majority of the Jewel stores have equipment that they use to measure the finger sizes for their customers before they sell to them. So, visit the nearest jewel store near you and have the measurements taken. After determining the right size for your finger, try out different rings of that size while at the store to be sure that they are accurate. This will guide you in finding a suitable ring for you in case you decide to buy from another jewel store.

Use an Old Ring

This is useful for those who want to surprise their loved ones with a ring. You can determine the ring size of your man by using the old one.

There are two main ways methods that one can use the ring to find the appropriate ring sizes:

  • Use the first tip whereby you take the ring to the jewel store for accurate measurements.
  • You can use a tapered candle where you are required to slide the ring in the candle and once it stops at a particular point, measure the circumference of the candle at that point. Then using men rings chart, determine the right measurements.

Size your Finger

This is another excellent tip if you are not able to visit the jewel store or you don’t have a ring. Get a piece of a string and tie it around your finger. Then using a pen mark the area where the string overwraps. Make sure to measure the area around the knuckle to get the right sizing. Then measure the length of the string using a ruler from the point that you marked with the pen.

Using the men’s rings chart determine the measurements of the ring finger. It is advisable that you take the measures when your hands are warm. This is because the fingers tend to shrink when the hands get cold hence at these times you may end up getting a smaller size.

Also, the fingers from the two sides of hands differ in sizes, and it is essential that you measure the finger that you want to buy the ring for. If it is a wedding ring, measure the appropriate finger which is mostly the third finger.

If you are planning to surprise your partner with an engagement ring, follow the above guide to help you in selecting the right ring size. When using a ring size chart, use the closest measurements from the table for excellent results.
