Are you thinking of going down in unconventional route for your wedding? Why not? Everyone is different, and no two couples are the same. If you’re looking for a some different, cute, or quirky ideas for your wedding day then you’ve come to the right place!

Food

Everyone knows the routine, there are usually a few appetizers and then a big, heavy sit-down meal, then later the buffet comes out. The thing you need to remember is that there are no rules. This is your wedding, so if you want a finger buffet full of pizza, nachos and the food you and your partner enjoy – then so be it! Have you considered hiring a hog roast for the big day? With little effort and usually for a fraction of the price, you can impress your guests and fill them up simply by hiring someone to do all the hard work for you! Click here for more information.

Centerpieces

We’re not talking expensive fresh flowers here, we mean something completely different. How about some classic gaming centerpieces? This could be a set of hungry-hippos, connect 4, or even operation! These don’t have to be expensive either – think charity shop bargains! With a little DIY and some imagination, you’ll have your guests marveling at your creativity!

The Wedding Cake

Not everyone likes fruit cake. It’s a fact! These days the classic 3 tier cake is considered old hat, so why not embrace your favorite foods instead? How about a doughnut tower, or cupcake display? Cheese wedding cakes are rising in popularity, which includes a tier of different cheeses selected by you and your partner. Wedding Pie’s are ideal for those who don’t have much of a sweet tooth either. What could be better than a tower of all your favorite pies with many different, glorious fillings?

Ice Cream

Having a wedding in the summertime? Why not bring the celebrations outdoors and have an ice cream van waiting to serve your guests their favorite ice cream flavors and delicious ices? Not only is this fun, but your guests (particularly the little ones) will thank you if it’s a very hot day!

Shake up the Seating

Everyone seems to get stressed over the seating plan. Who can’t sit with who, Uncle A must be seated next to Aunt B but can’t go near Grandma C…. nightmare! Remember, this is your wedding day! Why not throw out the seating plan and get some picnic blankets down instead? Picnic benches are a great idea for outdoor venues too! As well as bales of hay! The opportunities are endless.
