Increasingly couples are opting to marry abroad rather than in their home country. In some countries, like the UK, as many as 1 in 4 couples travel long distances to get married. As you will see, when you read on, there are several good reasons to celebrate your special day abroad.

In many countries, the weather is not particularly reliable. Even in the summer it can rain or be overcast, which quite literally puts a dampener on the day. Fortunately, there are lots of places in the world where for several months of the year you are almost guaranteed sunshine, so that you can enjoy your day.

Wear What You Really Want

The other nice thing about marrying abroad is the fact that you get more choice when it comes to how you dress. If you want a more casual feel to your wedding, you can always opt to have the ceremony held to the beach. In that setting, there is no need to go down the dress and suit route. Most bride and grooms choose to wear smart summer clothes for the ceremony, but even shorts would not look out of place in a beach setting. You can buy shorts that would look great for a beach wedding for most clothing retailers.

If you want to wear something really different you can opt to wear the customary attire of the place you are marrying in. This is an increasingly popular option. Many couples want their special day to be as unique as possible. They like the fact that their wedding album is very different.

Marrying Abroad is Easier

Some people find that holding the ceremony abroad just makes things easier. Generally speaking, there are fewer guests to worry about, and because you have little choice but to order a package organising everything is a lot simpler. There is no need for endless trips to potential venues, cake tastings, and shopping trips to buy all of the little items you need for a wedding that is hosted at home. Things are just simpler. As a result, getting married abroad tends to be less stressful, which means that the bride and groom to be able to relax and really enjoy their day.

Often getting married abroad is less expensive than marrying in your home country. For example, the average UK couple spends £27,000 on their wedding. Whereas the average cost of getting married abroad is just £6,585.

It’s More Fun

For couples who have a sense of adventure getting married in another country is the perfect way to start their life together. It is fun, and different, which makes the day that bit more special and memorable. Many couples find that starting their married life together in a low-stress and enjoyable way, without landing themselves with big debts, makes it easier for them to not to argue. This helps to form a good foundation on which to continue to build the relationship.
