Ben & Katy Marriage Renewal

A Wedding at Pennyhill Surrey

Ben & Katy were married 8 years ago at Pennyhill Park near Bagshot in Surrey. Then they did it again on August 9th with a couple more children under their belt and more or less the same entourage.

Of course the venue was an easy one, same place, same bride easy! This time around there was a little more to spend on the right bubbles and a bit more splurged on the diamonds. What was incredible was to see all the kids getting stuck in and enjoying they day as if they owned a piece of it, which they most certainly did.

Of course there is a light heartedness that goes into a vow renewal. The nerves are not what they were and the weight of the situation is entirely different. In fact the reason why you are there is a completely different reason if you want to take an angle on it. The second time around it seems more about celebrating family & life, love being the subtext & narrative.

I chose the song Right down the Line by Gerry Rafferty because it has everything to do with sticking together and that’s really what they’ve done.

Ben writes: “It felt even better than the first time. I  surprised  Katy with a ring that I had remade for her and asked her over a glass of champagne. My favourite moment was when we sealed the deal for the second time.”

His advice on doing it again? “Definitely do it again for the second time because it is so good to see your family and closest friends enjoy it with you.”
