5 Tips for Buying the Right Wedding Rings

rings

The wedding band: a symbol of commitment and eternal love, that once loving placed on your finger, will remain on your hand of the rest of your life. A wedding ring is one of the most important purchases you will ever make, as well as one of the most romantic and meaningful, so it’s important to get it right.

But how do you know if you’re choosing the wedding rings that are perfect for you?

Budget, Budget, Budget

Just like engagement rings, wedding bands come in all shapes, colours, sizes, and (you’ve guessed it) budgets. Before you begin shopping, consider what you can afford, and remember that different metals do require different budgets. In addition, don’t forget to consider the price stones and/or engraving in your budget, as they will quickly increase the cost.

Consider Your Styles

Does your perfect Saturday involve a romantic meal at a restaurant, or a takeaway and a bottle of wine? Do you like to get dressed up, or are you more comfortable in jeans? Think about the kind of couple you are, what you like, enjoy doing and how you usually dress. Your rings should connect with you who you are, both as individuals and as a couple.

Think Everyday

Your wedding rings need to be suitable for your lifestyles, not just your wedding day, so consider about your everyday lives – F Hinds have a great selection, whatever your interests. Think about your environments at work and your hobbies – for example, if you’re sporty or work with your hands, consider a more durable metal such as platinum, and forgo any stones.

Try a Variety

While shopping online is a great way to start the process and get an idea of what you both like and can afford, it’s best to try on a selection before you purchase. Why? While it may look great on a photograph, every ring feels different on and can have a slightly different fit. Your rings need to be comfortable, so try on a variety of styles and shapes to avoid regret.

Be Eclectic

Couples commonly tend to worry about picking one metal, but there’s no need to limit your choices. If you prefer different metals, you could consider a two, or even three-tone band, or be eclectic and each select different metals – your rings don’t have to be identical. Remember, you both have to look down at these rings, so you both need to be happy with your choices.
