Age for kids to be wedding witnesses
We both lost our spouses one month apart, four years ago. We each have two children; mine now 10yr and 8yr and his 12yr and 8yr. We met 1 1/2 yrs ago and plan to marry this December in a small Catholic mass wedding. Are kids too young to fulfill "witness needs"?

Dear Ellen, Typically, junior attendants are between the ages of 9 and 14. Yours are only one year younger than is typical. So, you could use all of the children as junior attendants. Or, the younger two could escort you and the older could stand with you. I don't know the legal age "witnesses" need to be to sign your wedding license though. You'd have to read the fine print. But, anyone can sign for you. Best wishes, Rebecca Black, Etiquette Consultant Etiquette Now http://www.etiquettenow.com
