renewing vows in Central Park, NYC
My husband and I live in the UK and in October of next year it will be our tenth wedding anniversary.
We have decided to renew our vows and new rings with a few family members, including our 2 daughters.
We would love to do this in Central Park, we have never been to the states, but this just appeals to us hugely.
Help!! I do not know where to start, the venue, the ceremony, the etiquette, the guests.......!!!!!!
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding any of the planning!! Any websites that offer the service?!?
Anything at all please help!!!

Hello Woody:
You're in luck since I am about 50 miles outside of the greatest coty in the world -- NYC!
I can certainly recommend Reverend Susanna if you'd like an officiant to oversee your vow renewal. She is a non-denominational minister here in New York and I'm sure she could help you wih all of the details. I will have her post here for your convenience.
For any wedding services Reverend Susanna cannot help with try
New York Top Wedding Sites.
The venue and all of those services wil depend on your taste and budget so it would be hard for me to recommend any one service or location.
As for the etiquette...we have it...

Blessings! Thank you for choosing NYC for your vow renewal! I have officiated at many ceremonies in Central Park, including many couples from the UK. If less than 20 people are present, no license or permission is required. Do you have a favorite spot? Many of my couples roam the park a day or two beforehand to locate their perfect spot. Some choose more public and populated places such as Bow Bridge or by one of the sculptures. See below:

Others choose a private location more uptown say within a grove of trees or upon one of the enormous boulders. Once, as the marathon was going through Central Park, a couple from Germany chose to renew their vows before one particularly majestic tree up near Columbia University--far away from the crowds. It became our altar. It all felt very private.
Honestly, this website is the best, most comprehensive site you will find regarding vow renewal---including my article. Read through its pages thoroughly, and you should be able to find everything you need.
Wishing you continued happiness in each other's arms....
(My husband and I will be renewing our vows next year for our 20th year anniversary. My son will be escorting me down the aisle.)
Much joy to you!

Hi
I hope I am not intruding in this thread but I too am travelling to New York however in April to celebrate my wifes 40th Birthday lunching at the tavern on the Green then taking in a show in the evening.
We have been married 15 yrs this year and I would like to suprise her by renewing our vows. Ideally horse and carriage trip around the park culminating with the blessing at say the great lawn bowbridge.
Do you think it could be possible? and how do I go about arranging it? Oh the date is 6th April 2006 and I have no problem Rev. Susanna officiating
