renew wedding vows - walking down the isle

My husband and I are renewing our vows and I have done a lot of research on who should walk you down the isle. I have read that your husband or children would be appropriate. My question is what about my father. My family was not involved in our wedding the first time around and I would really like to give him (and myself) this opportunity.
