invitation etiquette for vow renewal
I was going to make (print) my own simple invitations, only inviting friends to a "cocktail/dinner party" after. Do we have to state what the party is for on the invites or can we surprise them?
I guess I dont know how to word it without sounding "redo" or too 1st wedding.
Any tips are appreciated!
Thank you!

Dear Invitation,
You can do this either way. You may surprise them or explain what they will be celebrating. This could be very informally worded. For example: Please join us in celebrating our vow renewal. Dress casually for cocktails and dinner.
Best wishes,
