     formal wedding for vow renewal?

My husband and I got married on three days notice five years ago. We had a total of six people when we got leagally married in my brothers backyard. We are now wanting to the dream wedding we didn't get back then because we couldn't afford it. We are wanting to have our sixth year annivsary be when we get to renew our vows in front of everyone in the way we wanted to begin with. Is this ok for us to do?

Congratulations on six happy years!

Since you are already married this event would be called a vow renewal. A vow renewal is not a wedding and should be hosted a bit differently in order to avoid embarassment. Please read more about renewing your wedding vows for your anniversary on this site by navigating on the left of the page.

There are lots of other posts in the forum where we discuss weddings and vow renewals. PLease feel free to thumb through previously posted questions and answers on this subject.

Enjoy!
