Wedding and Vow Renewal... can I mix the two?
So I am soon to be married by JP and I can only invite part of my family (as in 10 people). I want to have a vow renewal ceremony but I want it to be like a wedding as in that's when people bring gifts and I feel like my dad is being cheated so I kind of want him to walk me down the aisle.... however that does seem strange. What would you recommend doing? Thanks for the advice!

I don't know why you are choosing to be married by the JP but I would suggest waiting to have the ceremony you want. Once you're married, you've said your vows, signed the papers and you are legally married.
Vow renewals are typically done much later in the marriage and are not gift giving events.
I would think long and hard about where, when and how you'll be married.

I completely agree and urge you to read out many posts concerning vow renewals and
vow renewal etiquette
.
A vow renewal is not a second wedding. It is supposed to be a ceremony to reaffirm your vows to each other. And, it is usually held on a bench mark anniversary--not a gift giving situation.
