     Renewal Questions

My husband and I got married five years ago with a simple courthouse wedding and now I would like to have a little nice ceremony. My father did not come to the first wedding we had and wants to walk me down the isle. I want he and mystep dad to do it-is it okay? Is it okay to invite a handful of people to the reception, but not wedding. We want to share with all our friends and family, but can not afford to pay for a big wedding.

Since you are already married your ceremony would be considered either a vow renewal or a blessing of your marriage (if done at church), not a wedding.

Please review our pages on vow renewal etiquette and renewing wedding vows ceremonies for more information. I believe the answers to your questions will be found within these pages.
