Do we need to have someone perform a vow renewal ceremony?
My husband and I are going on 10 yrs of marriage. We have 3 children and have been through plenty. We are a mixed couple who went through many many trials and tribulations. Today I feel like I love my husband more than I have since I met him. We went through a very bad thing in December and it has brought us so close. When we celebrate our 10th anniversary we were planning on renewing our vows however we decided to throw the party and recite vows on our own with no minister or anything. Do we need to have someone perform a vow renewal ceremony?

Congratulations for getting through the tough times. You accomplished the vow renewal and had a party afterwards. There really isn't anything more to it. This is not a legal or religious event and no minister or paperwork is needed.

I'm sorry we didn't actually have the party yet we just decided to do it that way. Our anniversary is July 19th so I just wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions.
