Asking father to walk daughter down the aisle for vow renewal

My husband and I have been married for 9 years on our 10 year anniversary we are planning on renewing our vows. Our first wedding wasnt really a wedding we went to the court house and got married. I have found out recently that my father has cancer and because he didn't walk me down the aisle the first time I would love for him to walk me down the aisle this time cause I dont have a promise of him being here much longer. Is this appropriate or not.
