2nd wedding or vow renewal?
My "husband" and I have been together for 7 years, but are technically only commom law married. We did have a simple ceremony by a notary then, but since our wedding is not considered legal nor was it religious, we are planning a wedding for May of next year, with a Minister not notary and are wondering if this would be 2nd wedding or vow renewal??

Hi Denise -
I assume that you had a ceremony performed by a notary but did not apply for a marriage license, thereby making it legal. So, since the two of you have been living as "husband and wife" for so long, I think the best way to handle your situation is to have a marriage blessing. You can read more about this ceremony right on this website by using the left side navigation under wedding vows and ceremonies.
Much Happiness,

I agree. This is especially true since you have been living as husband and wife and if you invite guests. Guests see you as "married" already, so it could appear silly and illogical to host a wedding.
