when to wear the engagement ring revised
Currently I am going through a divorce. I've read that i cannot wear my engagement ring until my divorce is final, although it has given me no reason. My ex has already moved on and is engaged himself. What is your opinion of wearing the engagement ring? Our friends and family are already supportive of our engagement, but i have not worn the engagement ring yet do to this information. This is also hurting my fiancees feelings.

Dear Mooter,
It is a 'rule' because legally you are still married to someone else and it is viewed as improper and in bad taste to even be engaged until divorced. So, to wear the ring is ...well, not proper either. Of course, it is always your choice to do what is considered proper or no.
Best wishes,

Agreed. Also, be sure to wait to set the date and begin planning. Sometimes there can be a snag in the paperwork. We've received too many posts from couples who didn't wait and regretted it because they had to reschedule and/or ose deposits.
