What to wear for vow renewal

My husband and I were married two and a half years ago. We had been engaged for 5 years prior to getting married, and On December 3,2006, we decided on December 21,2006, we would get married. We had a small ceramony with just my parents and sisters and his mom, step dad and brothers and sister and a couple of my husbands friends there. I am Catholic and I didn't marry in the church. It is to my understanding that it is basiclly that I am not married in they eyes of the church, (please correct me if I am wrong). Anyways, We have gotten alot of grief at a recent wedding we attended for my brother in law, and public embaressment on the fact that people were unable to come on such short notice. (sorry I had just had a miscarrige and was making rash choices) Everyone has asked us to do it all over again. I know that it would be a vow renewal, and I am ok with that, but since I didn't wear a traditional wedding gown, I wore a red Indain Sari, would it be anywhere near proper to wear a simple gown, and have a big ceramony so that everyone can come? And do you have to do the vow renewal on the same date, or can it be diffrent since you are not getting married? Thank you for your time. I hope you have a wonderful day!
