Wedding Celebration After Private Second Wedding

This will be the second marriage for both my fiance and me, and we have agreed that the actual wedding will be private, just him and me and a magistrate at my parents' beach house sometime next year. I would like to have a reception/party after the fact here at home, for family and a few close friends. This would be at a banquet/reception facility, not at somebody's home, and would be light fare, hors d'oeuvres, cake, possibly cocktails. Here are my questions: Would it be appropriate to have music, possibly a string group of some kind? What about a suit for my fiance and a toned-down wedding-y dress for me? Is that acceptable? And finally, what about having the guests dress up a little, i.e. not formalwear, but not jeans and sweatshirts, either, say, church clothes? This reception would take place within a couple months of the ceremony, definitely. Thanks for any advice you can offer!
