Newspaper announcement
What is proper for a second wedding? We both have been married before and live in a small southern town where wedding and engagement announcements are always submitted to the local paper. However, my concern is that since we've both been married before that this might be tacky. Both of our famiies are well known in the community and we certainly would not want to embarass them. Could you give me some sound advice. None of my etiquette books properly address this situation.
With Kindest Regards, I am

Dear Wants To Announce,
Yes, you can announce your engagement and wedding plans in the newspaper. This is quite common. Read the Life Style section of the paper to find out about their format. You can write your own and submit it. You will be announcing this, not your parents.
