Engagement Announcements
We have just gotten engaged: his second (after 10 years), my second (afer 25 years!) and we want to share the wonderful news with colleagues, relatives and friends. I kissed a lot of frogs before I found my prince. What type of announcement is appropriate - newspaper, postcard, formal, e-mail, phone calls (over 160 will be invited to the ceremony and reception)? The wedding will be formal and somewhat traditional. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Dear Found Her Prince, Announcements are sent after the wedding, so the newspaper, email, and phone calls are your best bet. You can also host an engagement party in which you surprise the guests with the news. Traditionally this would be done by a bride's parents, but anyone can do it these days. This is especially true for we older brides and those marrying again. Congratulations!! Rebecca Black, Etiquette Consultant Etiquette Now http://www.etiquettenow.com
