Colors to Match??
Hi.... My mother is showing her stress by letting me know that the cornflower blue napkins that my fiance and I had printed for the wedding/reception look purple against the light blue and dark blue flowers in the bouquets and the centerpieces for the wedding. She was actually crying about it to me. I told her that the colors will not clash and that it is just different shades of blue. My color for the wedding is actually periwinkle, light blue and dark blue. A artist friend of my moms said to just make sure that the ribbon on the centerpieces match the napkins. Is this correct? Gosh, I do not remember all this stressfulness at my first wedding. I guess I need some help from the artistic side of etiquette. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks

Oh dear...yes, planning a wedding, first time , second time or tenth time, can be stressful IF you worry about all the little details. Ask your mom to focus on what's really important...the celebration of love and life. But, your artist friend is correct, all of these blues are in the same family and will coordinate nicely. In fact, I think the contrasting colors will be beutiful and exciting. One or two colors can be boring. This is my opinion though! Just know that in a year from now, you will be able to ask anyone that came to your wedding, "What color were our napkins at the wedding" and I think most people will say, "I have no idea" or even, "There were napkins???...who knew???"
