2nd time around bridal shower...

My fiancee(34) & I(35) are getting married this August- this is wedding #2 for both of us. The ceremony is being held in Florida @ my fiancee grandmothers backyard & the reception @ a hall.(All of his family live in FL- my parents, brother & best friend will be attending) We live in NY & have all of our friends plus a large amount of my family members here. We will be hosting a reception dinner in "celebration" of our marriage here in NY.(Approx. 75 people) My mother wants me to register so she can throw a bridal shower for me here in NY. Is this a good idea considering that mostly everyone here would not have attended our actual wedding????? I am nervous about this...please help! P.S.- I did have a small shower the first time around over 10 yrs ago.

You're right to have concerns since it would not be polite to invite guests to a shower for you when you haven't invited them to your wedding. Please tell your mom thanks, but no. I Do - Take Two Site Administrator
