2nd Wedding - Beach Wedding Theme Decorations
My fiance and I are having a simple ceremony on the beach and we are having a "party" directly following. The building we are having the party is right on the beach (so it's all happening at the same place.) My question is - we have to go in and set up the place and decorate it how we want it. I am looking for unique, simple ideas for a "beach theme" wedding. Is it proper etiquette to do favors? I hadn't planned on doing anything traditional. We are going to dance to one song and then that is the only traditional thing we are doing. I am so confused as to what I should do or shouldn't do. We both had big weddings the first time around and we want this one to be simple. Any advice??
Thanks.

Your second wedding can include many of the traditional aspects of a first time wedding -- or not, it's your choice. If your budget allows and you'd like to give wedding favors feel free!
How about a beach theme wedding cake? This could include flowers and sea shells or it can even look like a dream sandcastle using a brown sugar dusting.

Beach Theme Shell Placecards and Holders
Set placecards in delicate pewter shell placecard holders, or line placecards along an oar or inside of liferafts. Write each guest's name on a sanddollar for a truly beachy placecard. Use real shells to hold placecards, or emboss each card with a stamp of a sailboat, a wave, or a shell.
Oceanic Centerpieces
There are many centerpieces you can make based on a simple beach pail (a galvanized bucket works just as well). You can paint the pail with whitewash or opaque paints and fill it with seaside flowers like verbena and beach morning glories. You can fill the pails with seashells, starfish and beach glass to spill out onto each table and around each centerpiece. Or, you can fill pails with fun beach gifts that can also serve as favors: tanning lotions, aloe vera gel, sunglasses, and floaties are all cute ideas. Other water-based theme ideas are sailboats, liferafts, fishing equipment, and lighthouses.
