second marriage/first wedding dress

My fiance and I are planning a very small backyard ceremony. For me, this will be my second wedding and for my fiance...his first. I want to know if I could wear a nice simple but white dress, I have to go for pastel colors? Can I also wear the dress about knee high with just plain sandals since it's going to be a backyard wedding?
