Wedding dress color

My fiance and I are in our late 50's and plan on being married next month. This will be a second marriage for both of us. We are having a small (<50 people) and simple afternoon ceremony at our church with a champagne reception back at our house. I have found a great ivory-colored dress that is designed to replicate a 1912 "tea dress" with simple embroidery. I am feeling a little conflicted about wearing the irvory color now and am seriously thinking of using a tea dye to make the dress a little darker in color. However if it doesn't come out right I will have ruined the dress! Although I look considerably younger than my years I want to dress "age appropriately". Any thoughts?

Dear Second Time Bride, There is nothing inappropriate with the color of your dress. If you like the ivory, wear it. It is fine. Best wishes, Rebecca Black, Etiquette Consultant Etiquette Now http://www.etiquettenow.com
