Second wedding dress without a train.
I am planning my second wedding, but it his first. It will be a small ceremony, maybe even at the justice of the peace, but he insists that on the day I become his wife, I will be wearing a beautiful gown. Not a full gown with train and all, but a gown. Since we will be having a large gathering afterwards... this is ok , right? I want him to have the wedding he always wanted. Since this is his first and will be my last, I want it to be perfect.

What a nice sentiment!
You are correct to forgo the train on your dress but there are no other
real
rules when choosing a dress for your second wedding. Please review our page about
second wedding dresses
for more information.
