Non-Traditional Wedding Ring
I have a question in regarding to engagement / wedding rings. My first marriage I had a traditional diamond solitare and ring band. For my second marriage I would like a more unconventional ring, something other than a diamond. I was contemplating perhaps a sapphire or an antique piece, something very unique. I was also just thinking about getting the ring and no band to accompany it once I am married. Is this acceptable? My boyfriend is concerned that people will think he is 'cheap' for not buying me a HUGE diamond. What is your opinion?

You are always able to choose the ring you like, whether it's a first marriage or a fifth!
Your choices sound wonderful. Tell your fiance yo stop worrying about pleasing others. He need only please himself and you. If the two of you are happy, who cares what others think?
