remarriage in the church?
I really want to mary my partner of 4 years, but I have been married before.
I was divorced 6 years ago but would like to marry my partner in church as it would be her first wedding.
Can I be married in a church again?

You haven't mentioned yours or your fiance' religious affiliations but this topic is pretty well covered on our religious issue page:
http://www.gettingremarried.com/christian_remarriage.html
If you haven't found your answer on this page please com back and list your question under religous topic so Revernd Fry can answer. please give him as much infrmationa bout yourselves as possible such as what faith you follow, what church you want to be married in, etc.
Thanks and good luck!

Most protestant churches will conduct 'second' weddings once you meet the requirements (if any) of the congregation and their pastor. You may want to check with a number of local congregations and get details on each one - - compare those to your expectations - - then choose one that meets your needs. If that does not work and you do not have a church connection, you may want to consider renting a chapel. Many historical societies have historic church buildings that are rented to the public. Most will even have a list of officiants willing to conduct the wedding celebration. If you provide more information about your faith tradition, perhaps I can be of further help.

The best person to ask is the religious leader of your church. Some
churches are more liberal than others regarding 2nd weddings.
All the best,
Jodi
