his second marriage and his concerns
My fiance comes from a very traditional and strict Catholic upbringing. His first marriage ended with his wife leaving him. He is currently waiting on an annulment so we can be married in the Catholic church (I too am Catholic). He's told me he's concerned that he'll appear to be a "fraud" at his second wedding since he made a promise to someone, and now will make the same promise to me. Never having been divorced, I'm not sure how to help him though this. He feels that he loves me very much and is happy that we will be married eventually, it is just hard for him doing this all over again. Can anyone offer me any advice on how I can help him and if his worries are valid? Thank you.

It might be helpful if you shared the grounds of his annulment. Perhaps, if the first marriage had some extenuating circustances that could explain why, although he meant to keep his promise, he may not have been able to keep it.

Have you both talked with the priest who is going to marry you? also give him time... too. Once the annulment is granted your future husband may find it easier to put it all behind him. I wish you both well for your future together.
