Remarriage after Divorce
My fiance' and I have both been married before. We are planning on a June wedding. Neither of us attend church on a regular basis so I was calling around to get information on getting a church for the wedding as a non-member.
I spoke with the minister of a Church of Christ close to my home. He wanted to meet with us because at least one of us had been married before. When we went to the appointment last night, he was hesitant to even consider conducting our ceremony because of our divorces.
We are christian. Do you have any suggestions or comments?

Each Minister has a pastorial obligation to be comfortable with the weddings that they officiate. Each and every Minister has their own ideas and opinions. The best advice I can give is to keep talking. Not knowing where you are from or your own religious background it is difficult to give more specific recommendations. June is a hectic month for weddings. So you will need to be very aggressive in your efforts. Best wishes and God Bless, Bob
