IRS and Judgment Liens after remarriage
My fiance has some past IRS tax liens as well as some court judgment liens existing from a former marriage and old business. He's working on paying them down, but it will take some time. Since they occurred prior to our marriage, does that mean I am protected from them seizing my property or bank accounts, as long as we keep separate accounts? Or once we marry can they come after me as well? We live in New Jersey.

The issues you raise are complex. In order to fully protect your premarital assets from your future husband's creditors have a competant, local attorney help draft a prenup for you. Your fiance should hire his own attorney to represent his interests in this matter.
