dress code wording on invitations

How do you indicate dress code suggestion on your wedding/reception invitations? At both the wedding and the reception (held later) we would prefer cocktail attire. Unsure

Dear Dress Code,

Traditionally, only 'black and white tie' dress would be mentioned on the reception invitation. So, it is best to use the old gossip mill. Let all of your friends and family know by 'word of mouth'. It's amazing how effective it is.
