Wedding invitation addressing envelope
This is a second marriage and a small wedding. I have arthritis and would like to use my computer to print my envelopes. I can use a fancy font and it would look nice. Would that be considered tacky?

We did the same thing for our invites. We have had many compliments. I did not, nor do I, find it tacky in the least. If it helps aleviate pain and stress, I say go for it. Just my humble opinion.

It is acceptable to address your wedding invitation envelopes using a printer and computer but consider that you may need additional envelopes in case you have a computer or operator error. Be sure to purchase a good piece of printing software and use a font that looks like scripted handwriting..

Keep in mind that we are being asked here what is proper by etiquette standards. Until very recently, etiquette suggested that using a computer to print and address wedding invitations was not proper. It really depends a lot on the type of wedding you're having too. If you're having an ultra formal wedding then you'll want to hand adress the envelopes or, if you cannot do this yourself, you should hire a calligrapher. Some weddings are so informal that you need not even send an invitation; a simple phone call will do!
