     Wedding Invitation Wording

I was married for 8 mo. when I was 23, my fiance has never been married. We are both 30 and my parents insist on paying for the small wedding of 25 people that we wish to have. Given these circumstances, we are unsure of the correct wording for our wedding invitations. Any suggestions?

If your parents are hosting the wedding your invitations can be worded as follows:

When the bride’s parents are hosting:

Mr. and Mrs. Walker Stone

request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of their daughter

Shannon Lynn Stone

to

Mr. James Howard Maurice

etc.

When the bride’s parents are hosting and the groom’s parents are included:

Mr. and Mrs. Walker Stone

request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of their daughter

Shannon Lynn Stone

to

Mr. James Howard Maurice

son of Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Maurice

etc.

When both parents are hosting:

Doctor and Mrs. Walker Stone

and

Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Maurice

request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of

Shannon Lynn Stone

and

Mr. James Howard Maurice

Etc.

Or,

Shannon Lynn Stone

daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walker Stone

and

Mr. James Howard Maurice

son of Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Maurice

request the honour of your presence

etc.
