Invite to second wedding but not reception
I need some help. This is a second wedding for my Fiance and I, and we've decided we want to let whoever wants to come to the wedding to do so, but just have a small intimate family dinner reception. How do I word that in invitations? Can I do an invitation without a reception card for those who I would just like to invite to the wedding only?

Dear Veronica, This is the only time it is appropriate to invite guests to the wedding and not the reception--when the reception is a small family dinner. Just send wedding invitations and not mention a reception. Hopefully your wedding will be either a small informal wedding or an open church wedding. If not, your guests may feel as if they are being excluded from a reception that is being hosted. Best wishes, Rebecca Black, Etiquette Consultant Etiquette Now http://www.etiquettenow.com
