     Civil ceremony, later real wedding

My husband and I had a civil ceremony in January of 2005. Now we want to have a normal wedding and reception in April of the same year. We plan to invite friends and family. How should we word the wedding invitations? We would like to somehow incorperate the fact that we are already married, but that the ceremony will be conducted normally. We don't want it to be labeled as a reaffirmation or a renewal of vows.

Since you have already said your vows and are already married this would be a vow renewal or a blessing of your marriage. Reaffirmation, Vow Renewal Invitations

The honour of your presence is requested

at the renewal of the wedding vows

(Or blessing of the marriage) of

Mr. and Mrs. James Maurice

Saturday, the tenth of March

at four o’clock
