daughter as a witness on dad's side

My fiance would like to include his 15 year old daughter on his side of the wedding party with us. I have 2 children of my own, son 16, daughter 11. How do we include the children so his daughter doesn't look like a "groomsmen" on his side? Is it appropriate to have his daughter on his side and my 2 children on my side?

Dear Teach,

Gender isn't an issue these days. So, any of the children could stand on either side. Just dress them as you would for their gender. The ladies as bridesmaids and the gentlemen as groomsmen with a little exception. When ladies stand on the groom's side their dress is the same as the bride's attendants' only the colors will include the groom's colors. The same is true for males standing on the bride's side. The males might wear the same suit as the groom, but the tie might be the color of the bridesmaids' dresses.

Best wishes,
