Children and dogs as part of the bridal party?
My boyfriend and I have no children but would like to include his two nieces and my niece and nephew in our wedding. We were thinking about having them walk our three small dogs down the aisle one at a time (it is a garden wedding). Is having animals AND children that are not your own appropriate in a second wedding?? Thanks!

Trying to involve children in the wedding can sometimes be difficult, but then adding dogs to the mix can be a recipe for disaster. Let's face it, kids are cute but they can be unreliable depending upon their ages. As long as you are not seeking perfection and are ready to accept crying, last minute refusals and possible tantrums, I'd say go ahead and include the kids. Be sure their parents are on board. As for the dogs, well, just think of all of the possibe scenarios. For example, the dog gets spooked and drags the kid off, leash and all or the dog decides to relieve himself on the leg of Great Aunt Fran who is sitting on the aisle. If you're asking for my opinion I would say choose eith the kids or the dogs, but not both. Ettiquete-wise there isn't anything official on this subject. I Do - Take Two Site Administrator
