I will be 38 when I get married for the second time in my life. I will also be about a size 12/14. I am a DD as well.

all the dresses I see so far are either too drab or too fancy.

so how fancy can I go and still be appropriate. I hate lace and laa tee daa fashions. I like sleek and elegant, but my size kind of contradicts that.

My first marriage I wore satin off the shoulder, sweep train, no beads or lace.. just really elegant and nice.

just no suits, no trains, no gaga.. point me somewhere

You sound perfect to me, very curvaceous and all woman. Lucky groom to be!

Have you tried Ebay? Buy your wedding dress online!

Or, click the navigation on the left of this page under attire.

That ought to keep you busy for a bit! Let us know how you make out. Good Luck!

So I posted on the wrong forum.. this is difficult..there are two forums.. I was going to say.. I have come up with an idea for allowing myself to wear a wonderful fun dress.. and really enjoy my second wedding.. my fiance loves the idea.. we can have a Renassaince/Medieval wedding, I will wear a maids dress..or a poets dress (still deciding which) and he will dress more of a scoundrel/pirate/swashbuckler swordsman.. and we will make a day of it.. the more I think of it.. the more excited I get.

This way I can wear whatever I feel pretty in, whether it is too formal or not formal enough.

I welcome any extra ideas and thoughts.
