my husband and i are renewing our vows for our 2nd wedding anniversary since we were married by Justice of the Peace before i left for a year long deployment. despite what etiquette states, i'm wearing a veil attached to the back of my hair. we're having the ceremony in the catholic church i've always attended growing up. do you think the Father performing the renewal would have a problem with the veil? i believe he told my husband and i that in the eyes of the church this would be like we weren't already married. he won't be back in town until tomorrow so i have to wait until this monday to go over last minute details because the wedding is jan 15. also, i was planning to do the bouquet toss so we were gonna to do the garter removal/toss as well. is this ok? we always planned on having the real deal but my deployment came in the way of it so that's why we're planning it as if it's the real deal. please help, the day is approaching. [shocked]

I doubt your priest would have a problem with the veil but speak to him about it anyway. Since you haven't been married in the church yet he may not be considering this a vow renewal ceremony but a real wedding ceremony. Again, speak to him to find out for sure.

You can celebrate your renewal with all the bells and whistles you like. Whatever makes you happy do it. There are very few "rules" when it comes to renewing wedding vows. Choose your dress and other frills according to the formality and style of the event.

Relax and enjoy...you deserve it. Thank you for defending our country!
