We are trying to keep the wedding ceremony small, inviting only a small family group and a couple of friends. We are planning to invite our four grown/almost grown children, our parents, our siblings and a couple of friends. We also have a host of nieces and nephews, ex in-laws, coworkers and friends that we plan to invite to a reception after the honeymoon. We are worried about hurting anyone's feelings that may not be invited to the ceremony, especially the children of our siblings. These nieces and nephews also have spouses, fiancees, and small children so it would end up being a fairly large group if we include them. Any thoughts on the pros and cons of including more people?
Thanks,
AmyLou

Who to invite?

Dear MaryLou:
Obviously this is a personal decision and your "pros and cons" may not be mine but, as I see it, the one big "pro" is certainly that you will be surrounded by all of the people who love and care for you. I suppose the down side would be more of a financial burden with more guests to entertain after the ceremony. You should consider the size of the place where you will be having the ceremony and reception when inviting guests too.
Again, since this is a very personal decision, please discuss this with your groom and make your decision based on your "pros and cons".
