My wife and I are planning to renew our wedding vows. We have been married for 11 years. We are looking for a new start and want to include our children. I have several questions.
1. In state of NY do we need another license or any type of official documentation? We were originally married in the state of NY.
2. Who can perform the renewal service.
3. Are there relegious implications or documents? We are Roman Catholic.
Any help would be apprciated.
Thanks
Louis and Christine

Renewing wedding vows in New York
#2
Dear Louis and Christine:
Congratulations on 11 years of marriage!
There is no need for a license or an officate of any type when renewing wedding vows. Your marriage is already recognized and legal and the vow renewal ceremony does not necessarily need to be a religious event, although it certainly could be if you invite a minister to orchestrate.
Please review our page on renewing wedding vows and including children in the second wedding for more information.
