My husband and I got married 3 years ago at the courthouse. Now we are planning our "actual" wedding ceremony with family and friends. I have been reading this website and is totally confused. Please help, answer the following:
1. What we doing is a renewal or a remarriage? When I think renewal, I think what me and my husband are doing. When I think remarriage is when a divorce has occurred.
2. I read the a renewal dress has to be ivory, or any other color than white? Is this actually true?
3. What is the significance of a veil? I read that a veil was a "no-no" in a remarriage ceremony. What about a renewal.
4. Me and my husband are hosting it. Is it okay to have both my parents escort me down the isle?
Thank you for your time.

You have already had an "actual" wedding so what you are planning is considered a renewal of your vows.
Your dress can be any color you choose. Just don't wear a veil or a train or any sort of dress that would appear to be a wedding dress. Go to our page on vow renewal dresses to read more about veils and what to wear.
For the rest of your answers please review our pages on vow renewal etiquette.
Good Luck and Congratulations.
