I hope you can help me with this question. I am a catholic girl wishing to get married to my partner who is a non- catholic and divorced. I am wanting to know if it is possible for us to be married in a catholic church by a priest? He was married in a registry office.

I would think that if your fiance was married civilly (not by a priest) then the Catholic church would not recognize that marriage and he would then be free to marry you in the church. To be certain, please ask your local parish priest.

First, I am assuming he is Christian, for if he is not, it is not be possible. His first marriage is not recognized by the Catholic Church, therefore an annullment may not be required. However, he may have to convert to Catholicism. Would he be comfortable with that? I suggest that you call your local Catholic parish and ask them these questions.
