Hi! This will be my first marriage, and my fiance's 2nd. We are both 30. He is concerned about who he should invite to our wedding since most of his family & friends came to his first one and there would be travel involved for ours. The wedding will most likely take place in New England but all of his friends and family are in MD. Is there proper ettiquette to this? Does it really matter? I can tell he feels some sort of embarrassment in asking people to come to his 2nd wedding,(whom most are Catholic too). Thanks for any direction you can steer us!

Who does he invite?

Dear Who does,
You can invite everyone you wish to have attend whether or not you believe they can make it, because you never know. Even if these people came to your fiance's first wedding, this is a brand new beginning and I would imagine those who love him will want to share in this. Some might feel left out if you didn't invite them.
Congratulations!

Why not invite everyone you both would like to come - it is then up to members of the family to accept or not. Dont get upset if there are some who refuse, accept that travel may be the reason.
