I would appreciate any suggestions.....My first wedding was very large and traditional. I am going to have a very small ceremony with my second wedding in December. I feel guilty asking for more gifts, when people were already so generous with my first wedding. I know people will begin to ask what I would like. How do I respond without hurting any feelings? Thanks!

gifts for a second wedding?

You are not asking for gifts when inviting guests to attend your wedding so you needn't feel embarassed or guilty. Understand that many of your friends and family will WANT to give a gift. For second weddings, gift registries are great for guests who wish to purchase something the bride and groom truly desire, (what second time bride needs another toaster?). As with the first wedding, no note of the registry should ever be made in an invitation or announcement. Those who are interested will ask. Be sure to tell your family to spead the word.

do not register and tell family and friends your guests might consult about gifts to spread the word that you don't want gifts - instead suggest a favorite charity those who MUST give something may contribute to in yoru name. There is always a way to get the word out about your wishes where gifts go and as a rule people will honor your wishes if they are sincere and well promoted.
