I've been looking through the website but can't seem to find my answer. I am Catholic and married another Catholic in a Protestant Church. We were divorced and I am wondering if I plan to remarry in the Catholic Church, do I need to seek an annulment from the first marriage? I'm not sure if because it was a Protestant Church, if that makes a difference or not.

Thank you!

The Catholic Church teaches that the marriage of two non-Catholics is valid and binding until death. According to the teachings of the Catholic Church you are still married to your first husband and you must seek an annullment. Be sure to consult with your priest.

The Catholic Church may marry you as your first wedding is not recognized by the Catholic Church. However, they may have further requirements of you.

Why not call your local Catholic pastor and ask him?
