I am a divorced Catholic and looking to remarry. I am looking into the process of annulment, but if i don't get it in time, can i still have a priest preside over the ceremony if it's not in a church? my fiancee is also catholic, and we would be looking to have the ceremony at the same place where we are having the reception. How do I go about finding a religious official to marry us? I know that some religious officials are more liberal when it comes to these policies. Any thoughts?

Please contact your local parish and ask to have a conference with the priest. They will be better equipped to answer this in a more personal way than we would.

Finding a parish priest to conduct a wedding ceremony outside the church is near impossible. Many Catholic couples looking to marry outside the church building will choose an ordained priest that is no longer serving in parish ministry - perhaps a married priest.
