Hi i was looking around for advice on a somewhat unique situation. I noticed on the renewal etiquette that it stated not to wear a wedding dress for the renewal. In my situation my wife and I got married in 2003 as husband and wife. Between then and now I transitioned from male to female. I was never able to walk down the aisle in a wedding dress and it has always been a dream of mine. My wife and I have been talking and she agreed to vow renewal on our tenth anniversary in 2013. I would like some advice on doing this and how to proceed. Thank you

Ashli

The etiquette would be the same for any couple. If you're already married, there's no need for a wedding dress. A renewal is not a wedding. You can see the dresses appropriate for a vow renewal on the pages of this website.

Of course, there are no etiquette police and, ultimately, you can wear whatever dress you like.

Also note that the 10th anniversary isn't usually considered a milestone anniversary but, in your case, there have been some significant changes that could be considered reason to renew vows if your relationship has changed and those vows are in need of renewal.
