We will be having a second wedding at a location that has very limited seating, so it will only be family and close friends invited. The wedding will be early in the afternoon with a cake and punch reception for the guests afterward. That evening - 5 hrs. later- we will be attending a dinner/show at the same location. Is it OK to request that those also wishing to stay or to come after the wedding and attend the dinner show pay their own way? Or should we not mention that we are attending the dinner show?

Dear Delores,
The simple rule is "If we invite, we pay". So, if you don't invite, you have no worries. But, if you mention the show in any form, you would be obligated to host/pay. After the wedding and reception, you could mention that you two are considering attending a show. Other may inquire about it, then you can tell them the particulars.
